Mary Anna Duttenhoffer (nee Miller) was born in Amesville PA in 1844. Later she met & married George Duttenhoffer and they were married in 1863. They moved out west to Nevada and settled in Virginia City NV., where George worked for the Miners Bank of VC.

Mary died of Typhoid Fever on Dec. 2nd 1869 at age 25. Her broken-hearted husband buried her in a chained off plot in the Virginia City Cemetery. George soon followed her in 1871 and now they lie together forever.
