Bio:

William H. Meserve was born in Chicopee, Maine, in 1828. He came to Nevada in the 1850's settling in Carson City, and in the 1860's Virginia City where he was a local business man, and dealt in stocks & bonds for the local mines, and the Virginia & Truckee RR. He never married, and died in his sleep on Feb. 17th 1891 at age 62. He was buried in the Virginia City Cemetery, and is one of the few buried there that has an all-metal grave marker.
